Freezers of Love
We offer fully paid for ready meals through our network of freezers - we call them the Freezers of Love. That means if you need food, whether you can currently afford to pay for it or not, you can access it.
How does it work?
It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
1. Find your closest Freezer and take some meals. All our Freezer locations are listed below – some even deliver.
2. All of our freezer meals are fully funded by our Friends of The Long Table. The more Friends we have the more meals we can cook and send out. If you would like to become a Friend of The Long Table please follow this link.
3. Enjoy!

FAQs
Are the meals free?
These meals have funded by Friends of The Long Table so although there is no cost to someone collecting a meal they have been paid for by someone in our community.
What sort of meals are available?
It varies depending on what ingredients we have been able to source, but there is always a good selection. Example meals that have been stocked in the Freezers of Love so far are: chicken curry, macaroni cheese, sausage casserole and cottage pie. All the meals are made using surplus where possible and locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.
Can I have meals delivered?
Each Freezer is run by a group of community volunteers, who often consider delivery on a case-by-case basis. Please check the details of each Freezer above and contact them directly.
How can I help?
There are so many ways to help:
- Grab a meal for yourself
- Contact your local Freezer of Love to find out if they need volunteers.
- Become a Friend of The Long Table as all meals are fully funded by their subscription.
- Grow vegetables, fruits, salads or herbs and bring them in for us to cook with.
- Share our work using social media and by word of mouth.
